INSPIRING FUTURES: TAILORED PROGRAMS FOR EVERY DEVELOPMENTAL STAGE
We offer a range of programs that cater to children from infancy to school age. Our curriculum is thoughtfully designed to meet the developmental needs of each age group, fostering a love for learning and an enthusiasm for exploration. Our programs include:
Infant Program:
Our Infant Program is designed to cater to the unique needs of babies aged from 3 months until they are confident in walking. We understand that this is a time of incredible growth and development, and we provide a nurturing and secure environment for your little one to thrive. Our dedicated teachers offer:
Individualized Care: The wellbeing of your child is our utmost priority, hence we follow each child’s unique routine from home, ensuring that their specific needs for feeding, toileting, and sleep are met.
Stimulating Activities: Even at this tender age, we engage babies in age-appropriate activities such as sensory experiences, reading, music, and movement, to support them in reaching their milestones. Kaiako create an ‘Individual Learning Plan’ for each child, outlining the learning outcomes the teachers and whanau aspires them to reach by the end of each term.
Safety and Comfort: Being purpose-built, meant we were able to create two separate areas for our Under 2’s. Something you won’t find often in other childcare centres around the country. Our teacher-to-child ratio of 1:3 ensures an unhurried and calm environment that gives our Kaiako time to spend important one-on-one time with your child.
Daily Communication: You won’t miss out on your child’s day and achievements as we update you daily on our Storypark App. You will also be able to see your child’s feeding, sleeping and toileting patterns.
Nursery Program:
We are fortunate to offer a separate Under 2 area for our walkers. Here they can enjoy running, climbing, and jumping without having to watch out for crawling babies on the floor. One major focus is to create a language-rich environment to support the infants growing communication skills.
Consistent Routine: Creating a predictable and dependable environment for this age group is crucial to forming a trusting bond with their new teachers. At this age, we follow a regular sleep and nap schedule to promote healthy sleep habits. However, our teachers are still able to offer individual care moments for children if needed.
Daily Communication: You won’t miss out on your child’s day and achievements as we update you daily on our Storypark App. You will also be able to see your child’s feeding, sleeping and toileting patterns.
Language-Rich
Environment: Teachers engage in frequent and responsive communication, talking, singing, and reading to children to encourage language and communication skills.
Qualified & Passionate
Teacher: Moa Nursery is staffed with trained and experienced Kaiako who understand the unique needs of this special age group. They offer responsive, loving care tailored to each child’s individual requirements.
Developmental Milestones: Teachers closely monitor and support children in reaching important developmental milestones. Activities and experiences are tailored to promote physical, cognitive, and social development.
Toddler Program:
Our Toddler Program is tailored for children aged 2 years to 3.5 years. This is a time of rapid growth, increased independence, and building social skills. Teachers observe the children and offer learning experiences and setup the environment based on their current interests.
Our program includes:
Exploration and Play: We provide a rich and diverse environment where toddlers can explore, play, and learn through hands-on activities.
Self-Help Skills: Our priorities include raising children to be independent and confident. This starts from putting on their shoes and clothes themselves, feeding themselves, using cups instead of bottles, cleaning up after themselves to starting their toilet training.
Language Development: We encourage communication through storytelling, music, and simple language activities, promoting early literacy skills.
Social Interaction: Toddlers begin to engage with their peers, and we facilitate social interactions to promote cooperation and sharing.
Physical Activity: Toddlers seem to burst with energy and our Kaiako are offering a variety of physically challenging learning experiences throughout the day to accommodate their needs.
Daily Communication: You won’t miss out on your child’s day and achievements as we update you daily on our Storypark App. You will also be able to see your child’s feeding, sleeping and toileting patterns.
Preschool Curriculum:
Our Preschool Curriculum is designed for children aged 3.5 to 5 years. Teachers observe the children and offer learning experiences and setup the environment based on their current interests. It is the foundation for school readiness, and we focus on the following:
Early Literacy and Numeracy: Our daily ‘School Readiness Programme’ introduces basic literacy and numeracy skills, fostering a love for reading and an understanding of mathematical concepts.
Community Engagement: You might have seen our preschoolers out and about in Otahuhu. We regularly go for walks, visit the fire station or police or stroll through the town centre. Every two weeks the librarian from Otahuhu Library visits us to read and tell exciting new stories.
Critical Thinking: Our curriculum encourages problem-solving and critical thinking through hands-on projects and activities.
Art and Creativity: We promote creativity through arts and crafts, music, and movement, allowing children to express themselves.
Social and Emotional Development: We help children develop essential social and emotional skills, including empathy, conflict resolution, and self-regulation.
Online Updates: You won’t miss out on your child’s achievements as we update you weekly on our Storypark App. You will receive individual learning notes as well as group stories to see what your child has been upto.
